Taste of the West is a unique membership organisation for food and drink producers, distributors, restaurants, cafes, pubs, hotels, farm shops and speciality retailers in the South West – all passionate about the provenance and quality of the products they make, serve or sell. The organisation is the largest independent regional food group in the UK and they work hard to promote and support fantastic local food and drink from Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire.
The company was established in 1991, and today they remain the leading supply chain co-operative for the South West’s food and drink industry. They operate as a commercial company that is owned by over 1,000 members from producers to distributors, foodservice, retailers and marketing specialists. The ethos of quality and integrity is underpinned by annual awards scheme – the largest regional awards programme in the UK – for products, as well as shops, restaurants, pubs, hotels and cafes.
Don’t get me wrong, the high volume, big contract work is the meat to our bones, which is the same for any label company. Having said that, we have no better pleasure than working with small family businesses and watching them grow, helping them as a partner along the way. Let’s call them the back bone.
Over the years we have, and still do work very closely with customers who are members of Taste of the West, many being award winners.
With our customers being based across the South West and the majority being food & drink companies, becoming a member ourselves seemed a perfect fit.
We couldn’t be happier to join the team and we look forward to working with Taste of the West and its members in the future!
